Our beloved Chairman, Mr. Lawrence S. Ting, has left us. All of us are deeply grieved with sorrow and mourned the loss of a great leader who has dedicated so much to Vietnam. Our late Chairman, the first recipient of a Prime Minster Citation for Outstanding Contribution to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to foreign investors and Medal of Honour of Ho Chi Minh City, is an exemplary leader of professionalism and perfection for the last 15 years. From the beginning when Vietnam opens its door to foreign investment, Mr. Ting has personally led a thousand employees, with total dedication and perseverance, to develop a piece of swampland into Asia's leading exporting processing zone in Tan Thuan and to introduce the largest oil-fired power station. He has also transformed this piece of land into a new city of international standard.

　Working together with our late Chairman for so many years, we deeply believe that he is a fair, determined, visionary, enigmatic leader with unwavering belief. He is an epitome of perfectionism demanding the best not only of himself but also from all his staff. With the business in Vietnam progressing so successfully, he must have been under tremendous amount of unfair treatment and grievances for opting this route to demonstrate his innocence. We sincerely hope that the truth of the dispute among the foreign investors will come to light as soon as possible. We need to give our late Chairman back the justice he deserves.

　Our late Chairman deeply loves this land in HCM City. He always mentioned that Vietnam is his second home. We believe that it is his wish that each and everyone of us will continue to uphold his belief to give our best in the fulfillment of our duties. It is also his wish that all his friends and leaders in Vietnam will continue to render their support to all the business ventures of CT&D in Vietnam. Under the leadership of the Board of Directors and the office of the President, all of us will continue to exert our best effort to enhance the economic development of Vietnam and to promote the welfare of the citizens and working environment in Vietnam. This is the legacy of our beloved late Chairman.
